Arnold attended the Out of Sight premiere (starring George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez) at Universal’ Cineplex Odeon Cinemas and the party atop the neighboring hill, with an out-of-sight view of the glittering valley below. Almost all of those responsible for the pic were on hand except Elmore Leonard, on whose novel the film is based. Plus George Clooney, Celine Balidan, Jennifer Lopez, Ving Rhames, Don Cheadle, Dennis Farina, etc. And the U toppers were led by Frank Biondi and Ron Meyer. Guests included Michael Keaton, unbilled in a cameo role.

Sunday, June 17, 1990

Britain's Sunday Mirror ran a picture taken for the book Pumping Iron in the gym shower room. They titled it, "Arnie gay snaps shocker" insinuating that Arnold was gay.

When Arnold sued, the Sunday Mirror, told the High Court it accepted that there was no truth in its June 17, 1990 allegations. They were ordered to apologize and pay Arnold a large sum of money.

As a pioneer & financial supporter of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles, Arnold receiveved the Center's National Leadership Award for his support of the organization's Holocaust studies (Nazi period). The ceremony took place at the Grand Ballroom of the Century Plaza Hotel. Also invited were Sylvester Stallone, Goldie Hawn, Lou Ferrigno, Eunice Shriver and thirteen hundred other VIP guests. US President made a speech in the star's honour. Raised $1.5m for a Museum of Tolerance.
