Entertainment Weekly Magazine (#499/500) published a Fall Movie Preview for End of Days that included a short blurb about EOD along with a cool pic of Arnold and Kevin Pollack. They ranked it a 6 on the "buzz-o-meter" which may not seem right to the devoted Arnold followers who were anticipating this movie more than the new millenium itself, but it seemed fair considering the promotion for the film has been fairly low-key to that point.

Some info was included, which was not available till then:
1. Arnold plays a recovering-alcoholic ex-cop.
2. Byrne, meanwhile, had a hoot manhandling Arnold, even throwing him through a plate-glass window. Byrne said that his son saw the scene and said, "Well, obviously that's a special effect."

Yesterday, the International Recording Media Association (IRMA) announced the nominees of the third annual DiVi Awards.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment led the pack with 15 nominations. But among the individual titles Arnold's upcoming Terminator 2: Ultimate Edition (Artisan Home Entertainment) is the absolute leader with eight nominations!

Arnold attended Planet Hollywood opening and Eraser promotion in Prague, Czech republic. Arnold reportedly cancelled the press conference, but had interviews in hotel Savarin (Na Prikope 10) and a lunch with Vaclav Havel. A Prague mayor Jan Koukal gave him a city sword. Arnold also brandished Eraser's lasergun at the reposed site in Prague.

Variety columnist Michael Fleming reported today that Edward Furlong has signed to join Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator 3, reprising his role as the young John Connor in a sequel that looks likely to be in production in early 2001.

While the hunt is on to find a director who'll replace James Cameron, the sequel has firmed up with two of the four principal players in Terminator 2: Judgment Day, though it is unclear whether Linda Hamilton or Robert Patrick -- who's replacing David Duchovny in The X-Files, will be following suit.

Producers Mario Kassar and Andy Vajna developed a script for T3 with screenwriter Tedi Serafian, and while no one is divulging the storyline, it's believed the pic will revolve around the waging of a postapocalyptic war between man and machine, a crisis averted in the sequel. Furlong's character becomes the leader of the rebel force which battles the machines trying to wipe out the human race.

The future doesn't look so bright

Furlong, who most recently starred in the Steve Buscemi-directed Animal Factory, recently wrapped the indie The Knights of the Quest for director Pupi Avati.

Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg and Ted Kennedy are scheduled to speak at the convention next Tuesday after which Maria Shriver and Arnold will host a party at their home!

The Four-Disc Set will include Arnold's Batman & Robin! No special features except production notes & theatrical trailer were announced so I believe this is just a repackaging of already released DVDs.
