'Collateral' Problems

t2.jpg (369 bytes)

Criminal actions have caused some trouble for Arnold Schwarzenegger's Collateral Damage project currently shooting in Mexico. According to Variety columnist Michael Fleming, two of the production's trucks were hijacked by armed bandits. The crooks got away 500,000 feet of raw film as well as some computers and TV monitors. Fortunately, the drivers of the trucks were not hurt.

Arnold lost for the last time

Arnold won IFBB Mr. Universe (New York, New York, America). Arnold's close friend Franco Columbu won his class and qualified for Mr. Olympia held the same day. Sergio Oliva, who was considered the best in the businness and the man who won Mr. Olympia twice in a row, was missing due to attend the more prestigious IFBB Mr. Olympia contest the same day.

Arnold got an approval to attend Mr. Olympia contest. He placed second at 1969 Mr. Olympia at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in Brooklyn (New York, New York, America) - Sergio Oliva won the overall title (nicknamed The Myth - no one even dared to compete against him in 1968, so he won unchalenged). Out of seven judges, four gave first place to Sergio, three to Arnold. After that contest (which Arnold confess he lost mentally - beaten before the contest - when he saw Sergio cast off his then-trademark pair of butcher's overalls and couldn't believe what the Cuban's physique looked like). Arnold never lost again. Franco was the third competitor.

That same contest, a 17 years old man Lou Ferrigno saw Arnold for the first time. His father Matty got special permission for them (through his police connections) to enter the backstage area. After Arnold appeared to be finished pumping up, Matty approached him. "Would you give my son an autograph?" he asked. Arnold replied in a harsh tone, "Not now! Later on!" Lou was devastated, but he realized (he became a Mr. Olympia contender 5 years later and Mr. universe winner) later that Arnold was so into the contest that he meant the refusal in a different way from how Louie interpreted it.

From all the competitors - Lou Ferrigno was Arnold's most beloved victim! Poor Louie...

More T2 UE DVD Hidden Features
Thanks to DVDReview

rob2.jpg (632 bytes)
t0.jpg (398 bytes)

t2.jpg (369 bytes)

Apart from the theatrical version and the Special Edition cut of the movie, Artisan Home Entertainment's phenomenal Ultimate Edition of 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day' also contains a third cut of the film, presented as a hidden feature on the disc.

Insert the side/disc that contains the feature presentation and from the disc's main menu, select 'Special Edition' which brings up a dedicated menu to access the film's Special Edition cut. On the right hand side of the panel you will notice some weird, unreadable symbols that will give you access to the hidden feature - actually they are roman numbers.

Take your remote control and press the key combination '82997' - the date of Judgment Day in the movie - and the symbols on the side should change to the text 'The Future Is Not Set.' If they don't, please make sure to press the 'Enter' key on your remote control after every one of the digits.

Once correctly entered, the eyes of the endoskeleton will light up and you will see a new menu entry appearing, giving you access to the 'Extended Special Edition' version of the movie with the alternate ending and other scenes integrated in the film.
If this approach is too tedious for you, there's an even simpler and faster way to access the additional cut. Simply use your remote control and go directly to Title 3 and you will also get to see the Extended Special Edition cut of the movie. Please consult your player's instruction manual how to directly access titles and chapters.

But there is even more hidden material on this release. Insert the second disc/side of the DVD and bring up the main menu. Don't touch any buttons, and every 30 seconds, the disc cycles through one of three different 'breaks' - in the first the lower left hand corner flickers with lightning and the words 'Join the Resistance' appear. Select it and you will find a weblink that takes you to Artisan's website. The second break is a small head of Beethoven, which will take you to the original Swelltone trailer, and the most impressive, third break comes in the shape of the T-1000. His head will morph out of the center of the screen and says 'Get Out!' These three breaks are cycled at random.

Robert Cocca, executive chef of Arnold's and Maria Shriver's Schatzi on Main restaurant, was involved in a near fatal motorcycle-car accident. He had an extensive surgery at the Ocean Medical Center in Redondo Beach, California. His bosses Arnold and Maria phoned him immediately wishing him a speedy and complete recovery.
