Arnold trained three hours in the morning and caught a flight to London. His friend Albert Busek was also with him. They arrived at midnight and Arnold decided not to go to bed - he was so busy psyching himself up for the contest, which was held next day.

Tuesday, September 21, 1971

Arnold defended Mr Olympia title in Paris, France. IFBB passed a new regulation excluding any bodybuilder competing in the NABBA Mr. Universe from entering their own Mr. Olympia title. Arnold choosed more prestigious Mr. Olympia title.

Arnold retained title in NABBA Mr Universe (professional) contest in London, England. He beat another rival, a black bodybuilder Serge Nubret. Arnold also befriended a young promising bodybuilder Bertil Fox.

Dorian Yates won the 1997 Mr. Olympia title. This was his sixth Olympia. At the press conference Pumping Iron director George Butler asked the Brutal Brit about equaling Arnold Schwarzenegger's seven-titles haul, Dorian responsed: "Arnold who?" and added "If he still needs the address of a good tailor, I'll give him one."

That was an obvious response to Arnold's August 1997 issue of Flex interview, in which The Oak severly castigated modern bodybuilding and Mr. Yates especially.

Joe Weider created the Mr. Olympia contest - contest only for the bodybuilding champions who had proven themselves over and over again in the Mr. Universe and Mr. World contests; Larry Scott became the first Mr. Olympia. This trophy became the ultimate bodybuilding title and Arnold won 7 Mr. Olympia titles: 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975 and 1980.

Saturday, September 19, 1970

Won AAU Pro Mr. World (Jim Lorimer's contest in conjunction with the Weightlifting Championships) title in the Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Columbus, Ohio, America. ABC's tv coverage in "Wide World of Sports." He beat Sergio Oliva and won $500 and a watch. Met Jim Lorimer - organizer (later started directing the Arnold Classic in Columbus - famous business association) and they became frieds. Impressed by the show (had all the legends). Was interviewed. Arnold also dual posed with Franco Columbu and all of a sudden people were asking for more dual posing and competitive bodybuilding had the pose-off.

Arnold retained NABBA Mr Universe (professional) title in London, England. Arnold was shocked when he beat Reg Park (second), his idol who planned to make a comeback. Dave Draper was third. Also competiting were Boyer Coe and Dennis Tinnerino.

Arnold jumped straight on plane. Flew to New York, where a private jet specially chartered by Lorimer was waiting to whisk him to Columbus.

Arnold also met George Butler (filmmaker, writer and photographer), who had afforded unprecendented access to the Austrian Oak till 1982.

Arnold became a naturalized US citizen with two thousand fellow immigrants joined him at Hollywood's Shrine Auditorium. Arnold was alloved to take out dual citizenship by the Austrian government.

Arnold was on Access Hollywood and he said END OF DAYS is coming along GREAT. He said the test screenings have been GREAT and now it's time to trim it down a bit. He said the film is SO VIOLENT and INTENSE, that they need to pull it down a notch. Maria Shriver was even scared by what was on screen he said.
