Frequent-flier Kiwi actor Cliff Curtis is back in Mexico shooting another movie, this time an action picture with the man they call Ah-Nuld. He’s been cast in the Schwarzenegger movie Collateral Damage directed by Andrew Davis (The Fugitive), but it’s not clear what his role is — or whether he’s a goodie or a baddie. Curtis was in Mexico earlier this year playing drug dealer Pablo Escobar in Blow alongside Johnny Depp.

Auction for the Terminator 3 movie rights was organized. Carolco still owns the rights, although they were at the U.S. Bankrupcy Court. Carolco reserves the legal right to outbid any competitor! The bidding started at $7.5 million, and was expected to set new records as the price rises past $10 million.

Before anybody had too much time to get excited about Arnold doing another Terminator, 20th Century Fox suddendly withdrew from negotiations, pointing out financial problems as the reason for withdrawing.

The Terminator Special Edition DVD slips into the 4th quarter of 2001

rob2.jpg (632 bytes)

t2.jpg (369 bytes)

DVD Review reported yesterday:

"Eagerly awaited, the Special Edition of James Cameron's original Terminator has once again been delayed. The title was first planned for release late this year and eventually moved to the first quarter of 2001 and has now been moved for release in the fourth quarter of next year. The reason for this significant delay are of legal nature. MGM Home Entertainment has acquired the rights to "Terminator" earlier this year but there are still contracts in place from the original owners, which give certain publishers a window to safely sell off existing product and empty their stocks. MGM Home Entertainment has to honor these contracts and has as a result delayed the release of the title to make sure no conflicts with these contracts arise."

DVD Review also had the chance yesterday to take a first look at the newly restored version of "Terminator" with the brand new 5.1 EX audio track that will be part of the DVD release, and I can promise you that you will be absolutely blown away by the richness of both, the image and the sound!

Forget Mike Tyson vs. Lennox Lewis. Wouldn't you rather see Muhammad Ali go up against Arnold Schwarzenegger?

Ali and Schwarzenegger will square off later this month, but it won't be in the ring. Instead, they're going to use the auction podium in an attempt to raise money for charity.

The two icons will be here on Oct. 23 as honorary co-chairmen of the Piguet celebrity watch auction at Christie's. They'll put 35 watches on the block, each of which will have been worn and engraved by celebrities like Cher, George Clooney, Natalie Cole, Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg, Goldie Hawn, Evander Holyfield, Anthony Hopkins, Ashley Judd, Lisa Kudrow, Susan Lucci, Susan Sarandon, Emma Thompson, Robin Williams and Shaquille O'Neal.

Proceeds will go to benefit Schwarzenegger's Inner City Games Foundation and Ali's Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville.
