Pumping Iron book, that was based on the one and only - Arnold Schwarzenegger, was published by Simon and Schuster. The book was turned down by every other publisher in New York because no one thought there was any interest in the subject. There were only two gyms in New York in those days! (not confirmed)

T6D opening weekend

The 6th Day opening weekend (estimate):
11/17/2000-11/19/2000 - 2,516 screens
$13,200,000
www.showbizdata.com

Yup, it was a sad 4th place for Arnold. T6D was Arnold's 9th opening weekend, but opposite The Grinch, which sky-rocketed to one of best openings ever - $55.1 million, even Arnold's Terminator 2 couldn't stand a chance. But look at the bright side, T6D has extremely positive reviews, IMDB rate for this film is in the Terminator area (7.6), and there's only one conclusion to be drawn. T6D will have legs. Just look how Talented Mr. Ripley opened with $12.7 million and earned over $80 million. Even Arnold's Twins opened less and went on to earn $100+. I've always said that the opening weekend isn't important - the second one is!

Do I really need to tell you that! For all You lucky bastards in USA I hope you'll see the film a few times over this weekend. The reviews so far applauded Arnold so it looks like this is one of his best ever pictures. You'll see... I'll probably have to wait till next year to see this film. The release date for Slovenia is not even set yet.

By the way - Arnold will promote the film today on The View.
