Saturday, December 31, 1977 Arnold spent time with Maria at a restaurant in Santa Monica together with his former adversary and friend, Frank Zane.

Tuesday, December 31, 1991 Terminator 2: Judgement Day became the biggest grossing film in US and worldwide. It topped the US chart with $204 million, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves was third ($165m) and The Silence of the Lambs was fifth ($131m). T2 telephone challenge also ended that day.

Thursday, December 31, 1997 Michael Kennedy died at skiing in Aspen. Arnold and Maria were shocked by the news and later attended the funeral.

	Monday, December 28, 1998 As the filming continued on the satanic End of Days, questions have been raised concerning the theatrical release date of the climactic thriller. A studio insider had this to say: 'Nothing is black & white yet, but it looks like Beacon will most likely choose Friday, July 2nd. This will position End of Days in the strategic 'holiday weekend' slot, with that great opening box-office potential. Nervously though, it will be tight. When (director Peter) Hyams completes lensing this March-he will be left with a very short post-production window. Don't worry, he's pulled it off before. Hyams works well under pressure.' 'We all believe this film is going to be a big hit. A blockbuster-easy. Number two, right behind Star Wars. We can't wait.' This would also mean that Days would open up against the Will Smith-Kevin Kline sci-fi/western "The Wild Wild West".
