Warner Bros announced filming of Arnold's I am Legend won't begin until
April, so it won't hit theaters until Fall or Winter, 1998. Warner Bros executives have
been hanging by a thread, and they just couldn't handle the pressure. The usually strong,
financially sound studio went through a record breaking dismal box-office showing for
1997. Flop after flop, the domino effect was unrelenting from the beginning to the end of
the year. The Devil's Own, Volcano, Conspiracy Theory, Contact all
underperformed, with production and marketing costs well over an excess of $100 million.
Superheroes couldn't save the studio either. Batman & Robin, the studio's
highest grossing film of 1997 ($107.3 Million), was a major financial disappointment.
Also that day, actress Linda Hunt said that she regreted her role in Arnold's Kindergarten
Cop. Although she loved filming scenes with Arnold, she was workless for most of time
during the filming in 1990.

Rumors spread on the internet about Arnold's relationship with Jesse Ventura:
"Some of you may have heard all the nice things Arnold Schwarzenegger had to say
about Gov. Jesse Ventura after yesterday's inuaguration, which makes today's comments by
Ventura in Rush Molloy's New York Daily News column somewhat surprising."

According to the columnists, Ventura, commenting on Arnold's chances in politics for USA
Weekend, says, "Arnold's real interests are making movies and money. He probably has
political interests because he sees how much he pays in taxes." Ventura then went on
to slam the actor saying, "Arnold's problem is that I can do something he can't: Be
President. He wasn't born here. Arnold doesn't want to be told he can't do
something." Sheesh! |
