An Arnold related scandal came out. Japan's Justice Minister Shozaburo Nakamura pocketed a form that was filled out by Arnold after the actor lost his passport during a visit a year before. "I and all my family are Schwarzenegger fans," acknowledged. New revelations followed and he had to resign his post that March.

Another of Arnold's goals was accomplished. IOC (International Olympic Committee) gave full IOC recognition to the IFBB; meaning bodybuilding - as governed by the IFBB - has been recognised as a bonafide sport by the world's leading sport's body.

The decision was relayed to IFBB President Ben Weider via an early morning call, and represented the fulfillment of a 52 year mission by Ben and his brother, Joe Weider.

Speaking from IFBB's Montreal HQ, Ben announced himself "Elated. I have been always confident that if the issue went to a full vot of the IOC, we would be granted recognition." Asked to encapsulate the 52 year odyssey, he replied: "It's been a case of blood, sweat, and tears."

Schwarzenegger officially signed on to the Collateral Damage even though he’s been rumored to be moving on to a handful of other potential flicks. Early word on the film was that it would be based on the Randolph Scott starring 1956 western Seven Men From Now. Andrew Davis helms the film and the film is likely to hit theater screens late summer 2001.

According to People Magazine, Arnold recently added to his income by appearing in several major Japanese ad campaigns, one for Sky TV (a paid movie channel) and the other for a tiny, amber bottle of syrupy liquid -- an alleged potency cocktail. In the latter, he raises both huge arms over his head and flashes two V's for victory.

In case you haven't checked Oakland Special in a while... There're a few nice pics of Arnold in Japanese ads.

Arnold described paparazzi incident on court. In a process against two photographers who chased Arnold in May 1997, Arnold admitted he was terrified and affaraid for his life and his family during that chase. He was present at the proces as a witness.

"You're like a caged animal. ... I was terrified." told Maria, testifying about what it was like when she, husband and their son were briefly pinned in their car by two celebrity photographers in 1997.

"In terms of the law, there is no difference between paparazzi and Miss Shriver chasing some interview subject down the street." said Charles Lindner, one of the lawyers representing two parparazzi photographers on trial accused of using their cars to trap movie star and his wife, TV journalist Maria Shriver.
