The Streets of San Francisco: Dead Lift aired on ABC television.

The police series was broadcasted from September 1972 to June 1977, so only three more
episodes were made after Arnold's! Michael Douglas was inspector Steve Keller from 1972 to
1976 and was replaced by Richard Hatch as inspector Dan Robbins from 1976 to 1977.

Karl Malden played the detective Mike Stone and Lee Harris was lieutenant Lessing. I was
lucky enough to see that episode with Arnold's villaneous but sympathetic appearance and I
must say that this just might be Arnold's greatest performance ever!

Santa Monica police were still searching for two tabloid photographers, who forced
Arnold and his pregnant wife to stop their car as they drove their son to school in Santa
Monica. Police said Shriver was driving the car when two male paparazzi, apparently
seeking pictures of the still-recuperating action star, starting pursuing them. The
photographers pulled up on either side of the couple's Mercedes, forcing it to a stop
about six blocks from the unidentified school. The men then jumped out of their cars and
photographed the couple with still and video cameras. One of the vehicles, a black jeep,
hit the Mercedes, causing minor damage. No one was injured. "I hope they slap a fine
on them or even worse," said Schwarzenegger's rep, Pat Kingsley. But the photogs
didn't give up the pursuit. After Arnold and Maria dropped their son off at school, the
two cars pulled up and the men again started filming. When the school's director tried to
intervene, the video cameraman pushed her out of the way. "She just kept saying, 'He
just got out of the hospital. Leave him alone,'" said Sgt. Henry Gallinot.
Schwarzenegger, who underwent heart surgery on April 16 (1997) to replace a heart valve,
was released from the hospital two weeks earlier. When Schwarzenegger and Shriver left the
school, the paparazzi followed, prompting the pair to phone police. The two men could be
arrested for reckless driving, hit-and-run driving, and assault, police say. |
