On April 26th, 1986 (Saturday), Arnold married Maria Owings Shriver (TV journalist and niece of formar President John F. Kennedy) at the Church of St Francis Xavier, near the Kennedy estate in Hyannis, Massachusetts.



Arnold's best friend Franco Columbu was attending as his best man.



A grand total of 450 guests attended.



Among the guests were: Jim Lorimer, Grace Jones, Andy Warhol, Sven Ole Thorsen, Oprah Winfrey...



Also invited were Ronald Reagan, Kurt Wildheim and the Pope (who sent a blessing).



Couple's family plan at that time was to have a big family, with at least six kids.



Arnold also gave a portrait of Maria (made by Andy Warhol in early April, 1986) to his parents-in-law.
